Dawn Yetter

Math + Teaching PArtner

Dawn was born in the Colorado mountain town of Leadville at the elevation of 10,200 feet. After living in Texas, and Southern California she returned to Leadville and graduated high school. Dawn always loved learning mathematics, and was able to continue her education at University of Colorado Boulder. Dawn was the first generation in her family to attend college, and this is part of the reason that drives her work as a teacher. Dawn is passionate about helping students who are first generation to find supportive pathways to continue education after high school if that is a goal they hold for themselves. After completing her Bachelors of Mathematics Dawn had the opportunity to teach English in South Korea. It was here she met her future husband David. Upon returning to the states Dawn was accepted into the Boettcher Teacher Residency program, and partnered with a mentor teacher at William Smith. It was here Dawn fell in love with EL learning, and all of the amazing people that make up the WSHS community. Dawn was fortunate enough to be hired at her dream school William Smith and has since been working with students as a math educator. Outside of work, she loves her son David III and husband David, and going outside hiking, biking, skiing or camping with the family.
