science

My name is Brooke Spencer and I am a Science Teacher at William Smith High School in Aurora, CO. I am a graduate of the University of Vermont, a former D1 lacrosse goalie and the recipient of two teacher fellowships to Vietnam and Costa Rica. I am originally from Littleton, CO and currently live in Denver with my boy/girl twins and my black lab. My professional goal is to help students see the relevancy of Science in their lives, whether students plan to pursue a career in Science or not. Personally, my goal is to hike the manitou incline this summer in CO Spgs and take a trip to New England with my twins. I love to ski, hike, listen to live music, travel, do water activities and explore new recipes and restaurants with friends and family. My expertise is Environmental Science, but I have also taught Physics, Chemistry and Biology. I look forward to working with and supporting the learning of future generations of William Smith students.Email: BKSPENCER@aurorak12.org

Haeyoung was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea until she immigrated to the U.S. with her parents at age of 18. She attended Tunxis Community College, CT, majored in General Studies. After getting her associate's degree, she attended the University of Connecticut for her undergraduate and graduate school, obtaining B.S. in Biology and M.A. in Curriculum Design and Instruction. After graduating, she moved to Colorado and started her first teaching position in North Middle School, where she has taught Science and STEM for the past 5 years. She is excited to join the William Smith community and to be immersed in project-based learning to make sense of the natural world we live in. In her free time, she enjoys embracing what her culture has to offer; watching k-drama, listening to k-pop, cooking Korean food with her family, teaching her baby how to speak Korean..etcEmail: HOLITTICH@aurorak12.org
