Sarah Christensen

I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, and I’m proud to call Colorado home! I attended Denver Public Schools and graduated from South High School before continuing my education at the University of Colorado, where I earned my bachelor’s degree. I went on to earn my master’s degree from Purdue University and my teaching license from Xavier University.

My teaching journey began in Cincinnati, Ohio, where I taught for four years in a K-8 school. In 2014, I made my way back home to Colorado and have been part of Aurora Public Schools ever since, proudly teaching in APS for more than a decade.

What I love most about education is helping students discover their strengths, find success, and reach their goals—especially as they prepare for life after graduation. I truly believe that every student can be successful when given the right support, encouragement, and opportunities to shine.

Outside of school, I am a wife, a mom to an energetic son, and a cat mom to two orange fluffs! When I’m not teaching, you can usually find me spending time with my family, playing outside with my son, reading, or watching a movie/TV.

Willie Little

Willie has been at William Smith working with students for many years. She loves it so much, she makes sure to come back every year. She can be found in the diverse learning office at least twice a week.

Paige Roths

Paige was born in Connecticut, but spent the majority of her childhood living in Wisconsin. After graduating from Lake Forest College outside of Chicago she decided to make the big move to Colorado. Paige has worked in Aurora Public Schools since 2011. She recently completed her masters through Adams State in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education.

Paige spends a majority of her time spending time with her family: husband, identical twin boys and daughter. She enjoys being creative, reading, running and supporting her kids at sporting events.

Paige is so excited to join the William Smith team where creativity and individualism are valued and celebrated.

Pamela Rowe

Teaching has been central to Pamela’s life since high school. With over two decades of experience and a Master’s Degree in Teacher Leadership, she serves as a Diverse Learning and Math teacher at William Smith High School. Pamela is deeply committed to helping every student discover their potential, express their creativity, and build the skills needed for life after graduation. Her drive comes from building authentic connections with students and watching them grow throughout their four high school years. Outside the classroom, Pamela stays active paddle boarding, biking, doing yoga, and cheering on her two children in all their sports and activities.

Akira Shazier

Hello, my name is Akira Shazier, and I am excited to serve as a paraprofessional here at our school. I have worked in education for six years, supporting students with diverse learning needs in both center-based and inclusive classroom settings. I earned my Associate of Arts in Elementary Education from the Community College of Aurora, and I am now finishing my Bachelor’s in Special Education K–12 at the University of Northern Colorado.

I am passionate about promoting dignity, independence, and inclusive practices that help every learner feel seen, valued, and capable. In my work, I focus on building strong relationships, teaching life skills, and creating supportive environments where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Ladi, and relaxing with friends and family. I am grateful to be part of this team and look forward to another wonderful year of growth and learning with our students.
